HOCATT (Ozonated Steam Sauna)
Our HOCATT (Hyperthermic Ozone and Carbonic Acid Transdermal Therapy) ozonated steam sauna allows patients to comfortably relax while detoxing. The sauna produces both ozone and carbonic acid. The sauna is designed to encapsulate the body while leaving the head open in ambient air. This prevents individuals from breathing ozone at a high concentration, which should be avoided. Patients are free to enjoy the cabinet entertainment system while receiving the therapy session for 15 – 30 minutes. Because the HOCATT houses a dry herb chamber for optional aromatherapy, a customized blend of herbs can be included for additional benefits.
How Does It Work?
During the session, ozone is steadily released into the sauna. Ozone is natural molecule produced by the body’s white blood cells. Ozone disrupts the integrity of bacterial cell envelope through oxidation of the phospholipids and lipoproteins. It also damages viral capsid and upsets reproductive cycle by disrupting virus-to-cell contact with peroxidation.
By introducing CO2 into the sauna to react with the highly excited H2O steam molecules, a new compound, Carbonic Acid H2CO3, is formed. Carbonic acid is a natural component of the body’s buffer system and can be found in blood and other fluids. It has the ability to penetrate effortlessly into the skin and bloodstream due to its highly soluble state, which increases the oxygen absorption ability of blood, muscles and skin. The heat and the carbon dioxide serve to open up the circulation to the skin so that, when the ozone gas is infused, it is absorbed by the skin into general circulation. Outside the sauna, concentrated oxygen is delivered to your body via nasal cannula. Full spectrum light rays absorb into your skin, and optional e-stim frequencies may be used simultaneously. Heat dilates your pores and carbonic acid potentiates that effect. Many studies have concluded that carbonic acid has a proven effect on helping your cardiovascular system. The carbonic acid is very effective and responsive to the heart and blood vessels. It is acclaimed to improve blood circulation and helps decrease vascular diseases.
